For our Milan office, we are looking for an MEP Construction Supervision Engineer to join our team.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience

You are the ideal candidate if you:

• Have solid knowledge of civil and industrial building services systems, including plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, mechanical systems, sanitary systems, electromechanical systems, and special systems
• Are proactive, flexible, and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment
• Have a good command of English
• Are available for occasional business travel within Italy, mainly across Lombardy and surrounding areas

Your responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the activities of site inspectors
• Supervise MEP installation works on civil and industrial construction sites
• Update and monitor the overall and detailed construction schedule
• Promptly report any delays in construction activities to the Construction Manager/Project Manager and propose appropriate corrective actions
• Support the Construction Manager in identifying and resolving design or construction issues
• Manage administrative procedures related to utility connections, including electricity, data networks, water supply, wastewater and stormwater systems, photovoltaic systems, and other building services
• Assist the Construction Manager in reviewing and approving shop drawings prepared by contractors
• Assist in reviewing and approving material submittals
• Assist in reviewing and approving as-built documentation
• Support the review and approval of construction methodologies
• Provide technical support for the preparation of design variations and change orders
• Assist in preparing responses to contractor claims and reservations
• Attend regular on-site coordination meetings with contractors and clients
• Support the review and approval of construction accounting and cost documentation (using software such as Primus or equivalent) before submission for final approval
• Prepare site inspection reports, construction progress updates, site diary notes, and non-conformance reports, highlighting critical issues and proposing technical solutions
• Assist testing and commissioning teams during inspection and acceptance procedures
• Verify that contractors comply with all statutory reporting and regulatory requirements throughout the construction phase
• Support the verification of subcontractor compliance and related documentation
• Review and approve testing, commissioning, and start-up procedures for MEP systems

Required Profile

• Previous experience within a tendering or bid management department
• Previous experience in the preparation of technical documentation for public tenders and design competitions
• A degree in Architecture will be considered an advantage

• Have excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Have excellent proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Acrobat DC
• Have a good working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Are able to communicate effectively with clients and collaborators in both English and Italian

Required Profile

• Degree in Building Engineering–Architecture, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience
• Experience in detailed design and construction documentation for building projects

You are the ideal candidate if you:

• Have a solid understanding of BIM methodologies, including both strategic and operational aspects
• Possess a good working knowledge of Autodesk Revit
• Have experience with clash detection, 4D planning, and 5D cost management workflows, preferably using Autodesk software solutions
• Are proficient in drafting and modelling software, including AutoCAD 2D/3D
• Have a good command of standard IT tools, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite
• Thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary team environments
• Have strong experience in executive and/or construction-stage design, including quantity take-offs and permitting procedures
• Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and continuously develop your skills
• Have a good command of both English and Italian languages

Preferred Qualifications

• BIM Specialist certification issued by ICMQ or equivalent certification body

• Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary design teams, under the supervision of a senior figure during the onboarding period
• Developing, managing, and updating BIM models throughout the project lifecycle
• Producing technical drawings and supporting the coordination of model information in collaboration with BIM Coordinators
• Working closely with BIM Coordinators, Senior Designers, and Project Managers
• Critically evaluating and analysing design solutions based on project requirements and team objectives

• Have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D, BIM-Revit, and structural analysis software such as MIDAS and SAP2000
• Have experience in seismic vulnerability assessments and the design of retrofit interventions for existing buildings

Your main responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the structural and multidisciplinary design teams across SCE Project’s Rome and Milan offices, reporting to the Project Manager
• Contribute to the structural design of projects, working both within multidisciplinary teams and alongside external stakeholders
• Support structural site supervision activities and provide technical assistance to contractors involved in our projects
• Organize and manage your work to achieve project objectives while meeting agreed deadlines and budget requirements
